Abstract
Three autopsy cases of rheumatic arthritis, who died of generalized infection which must be responsible to steroid hormone therapy, were described.
Case 1. Female. Rheumatic arthritis occurred at the age of 27 years. She died of tuberculosis three years later from the onset.
Case 2. Male. Onset age of rheumatic arthritis was 50-year-old. Eight years after the onset of illness, he died of sepsis and paralytic ileus.
Case 3. Female. Onset age of the disease was 8-years-old. At the age of 13, she died. The cause of death was sepsis and polyarteritis nodosa.
We should pay special attentlon for prevention of infection during steroid administration against rheumatic arthritis.
