Abstract
It is wellknown that determination of gastric secretion is important for diagnosis and treatment of digestive disease. Nowadays in almost all hospital gastric tube method is adopted as gastric juice test.
Theoretically Histamin or Histalog was considered to be most excellent as the stimulant. However these agent have side effect such as congestion and palpitation. From view of this point a new stimulant, Tetragastrin, synthesized hormon, was studyed. Injecting 1.50μg of gastrin intramuscularly, maximal acid concentration, time to reach to peak and side effect was investigated and compared with that of Histalog and Caffein,
The results are as follows.
Comparing the effect of Caffein, Histalog has three or four times high concentration of free acid and total acidity and time to reach to peak was shorted. Tetragastrin showed almost same effect and side effect in only one case.
From these result following conclusion is reasonable that gastrin is safety and excellent stimulant for gastric juice test.
