A study on the influence of hotspring bathing, and poisons of vegetative nervous system upon blood pressure and reticulocytes yielded following results.
1) Changes of reticuloeytes as seen following prolonged bathing were similar to those in which poisons of vegetative nervous system were given.
2) Changes of reticuloeytes in a single brief bathing were similar to the effect obtained by pilocarpin administration. The sympathetic types reacted the most.
On the basis of above findings, it is considered that the repeated and prolonged stimulation by hotspring bathing will alter the coordination of the vegetatve nervous system while that of brief period will cause an excitation of the parasympathetic nervous system.
