Abstract
In Japan, the transplants from brain death donors have not taken place. But in October 1997, The Law concerning human organ transplants, which enables to transplant from brain death donors was enforced. Under the strict regulation of this Law, it is essential for donation to express in documents the intention of organ donation and acceptance of brain death determination and his family's consent for both.
But it is most important that the concerned persons make efforts to promote and prepare the circumstances to make the organ donation and transplantation culture in Japan.
