Abstract
Accompanied by the extent of digital printing, so far it has been about that spread of digital printing probably will start even in field of large quantity high-speed printing where conventional system is the centre. At our company in order to answer the above mentioned flow, the new basis of the high-speed large quantity variable digital printer has been developed. It is Océ VarioStream 9000 series announced in February 2004.
The VarioStream 9000 series adopts both sides simultaneous printing and fixation mechanism. It is equipped with two engines that produce 800 A4 pages in a minute (2up duplex).
First model of the VarioStream 9000 series is VarioStream 9210 for monochrome printing, but it provides already the expandability for the future. The system is designed already making provision for future polychromatic extension, for example the model 9220 can print in 2 colours on both side of media. We are advancing the correspondence of basic colour and are planning to release consecutively three colours, four colours, process colour and process colour + highlight colour feature. The basic system for monochrome can upgrade at customer site.
