Abstract
A progress about the VCSEL array developed by Fuji Xerox for copier and multi-functional printer products were described, referring to the manufacturing process, structural features, device characteristics, and introduction to several built-in products.
For the first time in the world, Fuji Xerox has adopted a VCSEL array as a main part of the product supporting high-speed and high-quality performance, and launched a model into the domestic market from August 2003, and the overseas market from September 2004, respectively. And now we have been proceeding to extend our VCSEL products from mid-to high-volume lineup.
It is worth doing that Fuji Xerox applied VCSEL, which was a Japan-originated semiconductor light emitting device and enabled to realize 2-D array, to the consumer product and commercialized. Consequently, introduction of VCSELs to a variety of applications should be accelerated in the future.
