Abstract
The technology of sheet-fed inkjet press “JetPress720” is reported. JetPress720 is high-speed inkjet printer with offset print quality, which allows printing on various paper types including coated paper. The marking process is composed of preconditioning liquid coating to the paper, jetting, drying, and fusing, which realize the high quality image with rapid pigment coagulation, the paper curl prevention with water penetration deterrence, image toughness with ink including latex, and eco-friendly low VOC and deinking ability. Compact 1200dpi page-width heads for four colors are arranged on one jetting drum to keep the high precision color registration and it has productivity of 2,700 B2 sheet fed per hour. We adopted and integrated technologies in materials, head, image processing, hardware, and others from various field to realize the print quality stable enough for commercial printer.
