Abstract
Among growing digital publishing market, continuous feed requires high speed, low running cost and medium printing quality resulting inkjet technology to be especially suitable. Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. has been introduced 2800 ICCFPS which prints 200 meter/minute with intensive design prioritizing high speed compact and 1400 ICCFPS which prints 100 meter/minute with dispersal design prioritizing cost reduction. To explain adopted technologies for each fixture, common structures are classified as following main four components;1) Machine with paper feeding, 2) Printhead, 3) Ink, ink handling and maintenance, 4) Controller, and then, required characteristics and employed enabling technologies are described. Regarding advances on inkjet technology, speed limit of jetting, drying for water based ink, and possible extensions into the publishing market are discussed. Although inkjet has been stagnated recently, it is time to take a great leap forward by the entry into new market where is publishing.
