Abstract

Currently, the technological background that supports museums is undergoing a major change. For example, three-dimensional modeling technologies such as 3D printers, visualization technologies such as projection mapping, and VR (virtual reality) and augmented reality (AR). The latest visualization technologies are having a great impact on museum exhibits and on the research content of geology itself. In this paper, we report examples of the use of these technological systems in the field of geoscience and their application to museum exhibits. In addition, I will introduce the remote education using VR under the emergency declaration that started in 2020, when museums and schools had to close.
