Abstract

The most important issue for the printing inks industry to be addressed in order to achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) is the production and product development of printing inks that are sustainable and environmentally friendly, as set out by the companies. We have been an industry pioneer in the development of environmentally friendly inks, and the ratio of environmentally friendly inks to actual domestic sales volume in FY2020 (our standard) has reached approximately 95%. Based on product design that balances quality, functionality and environmental friendliness, we are accelerating development of water-based inks, biomass inks and the products that are expected to be applied to recyclable plastics in addition to less usage of petrochemical materials. Thereby we will have wide range products that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impacts at various stages of the supply chain.
