The functions required for the high speed printer include high processing speed and simplicity as a matter of course, as well the availability of copying the print. These have become indispensable to the bussinesss management of documents and bills in large quantities.
This equipment comprises the recording unit which forms the electrostatic latent image and the developing unit for converting the latent image into a visible one. The recording unit permits a stack of recording papers of required number to pass through the area of the printing electrodes, providing the print pattern to the electrodes in accordance with the input signal, and applying voltage for production of an electrostatic latent image simultaneously on each sheet. The recording paper is supplied from a roll for each sheet, being rolled up for each sheet after image recording has been completed. The rolls, with the image recording thus completed, are transferred to a separate developing unit, where the images are developed into visible ones by means of fine black powder. It then undergoes a fixing process for fixing the images on the recording paper. The prints are cut to the required length, completing the printing process. The recording paper used in this process can be copied (multiple copying at a time). It is produced with ordinary paper used asa substrate, over which a resin layer for electrostatic recording is provided together with a layer which enables multiple copies to be made. It is easy to handle and inexpensive. The main specifications of this printer are as follows: Printing speed 10,000 lines/min 136 columns/line Pitch of line 2.54 mm Pitch of line 4.23 mm Character size 1.6×2.4 mm Kind of characters numerical alphabetical letters (capital and small letters) · symbols·squarekana kana forms· (each character being formed from a 5×7=35 dot matrix pattern) Width of maximum recording paper 452 mm Number of stacked recording paper to 3. The paper is cut in the final proccss into the predetermined required length.
