To cover the Nagano Winter Olympic Games in HDTV, NHK is now developing several newly-designed HD equipment. As a result of the development, NHK finished ultra compact camera for HDTV. Newly designed high quality CCD which has RGB color stripe filter on it's surface could make it possible to design the camera small enough. This paper describes the specification of the camera and how this camera was designed.
