Using Bitstream for transmission in broadcasting station has an advantage from the point view of running costs. MPEG Bitstream Operation is a required in order to realize such a "Bitstream Studio". This paper focuses on the MPEG bitstream Operation in a broadcasting station, especially, "Bitstream Switching" and "Bitstream Superimpose". These techniques are found to provide the good picture quality for practical use, and they encourage the possibility to realize the "Bitstream Studio".
