Abstract
We show a multiple chromatic channel model provides good account for observer's discriminability of global color distributions in multicolored textures. The model assumes that the global color information is encoded by more than five chromatic channels, each tuned to different directions in color space (hue). We also propose an efficient retrieval system for natural images based on the model.
