23-1 Cumulative Angular distance measure and its improvement for color indexing

Abstract

In this paper, a new similarity measure for color images, namely, angular distance of cumulative histogram is proposed. The measure is compared to previous popular measure that is cumulative L_1 distance measure. Weighting is applied to the R, G, B similarity, D_R, D_G, D_B according to a Hue histogram of the query image. The method performed accurately and perceptually relevant result.
