25-14 A CMOS Image-Sensor with on-chip Image Processing Functions : The Artificial Retina LSI for Mobile Applications

Abstract

A 1/4 inch image-sensor with 160×144×3(RGB) pixels for mobile applications has been developed, using a 0.6mm CMOS technology. The sensor realized specifications needed in mobile applications, such as low power dissipation and on-chip image processing functions which reduces load of ASICs or processors outside of the sensor, and which leads to a simple camera system.
