We have developed the MPEG-4 Simple Profile Video encoder using the MAPCA media processor based on the VLIW architecture. By efficient use of SIMD instructions, and the DMA engine "Data Streamer", the encoder can encode a video stream of CIF (352x288 pixel), 30fps and 38kbps at 190MHz of the CPU clock.
