18-2 Software implementation of high-quality multi-view VoD system using dynamically updated background buffers

Abstract

Free viewpoint images are regarded as a good applications of next generatien. To synthesize the images, reference images from one viewpoint and their depth maps are often used. However, these materials suffer from degraded output image quality To overcome the problem, authors have proposed the interpoltion mdhod using dynamically updated background buffers. This paper describes software implementation of multi-view VoD system that incorporates the proposed method in real time rendering.
