22-4 A new Internet radio news service using speech rate conversion technology

Abstract

This paper presents a new Internet radio news service using speech rate conversion technology. The feature of this service is that three options of speech rate (rapid-nonnal-slow) can be selected according to their taste. Using this service elderly person may listen slowly, and a busy person or a visual impaired person can listen rapidly, for example. This speech rate conversion service on the Internet will contribute to barrier-free information service.
