3-D recursive search block matching which has been used for motion estimation is efficient and effective algorithm. However, the algorithm tends to fail to estimate the true motion when the spatio-temporal smoothness of motion is not held. In this paper, we propose a novel motion estimation algorithm using hierarchical search.
