17-4 Proposal of an Image Assessment Method by Contrast Contribution

Abstract

We proposed a new evaluation method for image contrast. It is an index value of "Contrast Contribution." This index value can estimate the form of a histogram. We evaluated some pictures using "Contrast Contribution", and checked the validity of this index value. Thereby, we verified that the evaluation result of each HDR images is in agreement with a subjectivity evaluation result.
