18-1 Implementation and Evaluation of a Simple TV Remote Control with an Easy-to-operate Electronic Program Guide on a Tablet Device

Abstract

This paper proposes a simple TV remote control with an easy-to-operate electronic program guide on a tablet device. A user can switch broadcasting stations viewing now-on-air programs on the tablet, and search for future programs as well with its simple GUI. Evaluation of trial use at subjects' home showed that this application was accepted not only by tablet users, but also by conservatives who use TV pages in the newspaper every day.
