Robust Object Extraction from Similar Background Color using RGB-IR Camera

Abstract

A real-time and robust object extraction method using RGB-infrared (IR) camera is proposed. An IR camera and IR lights are used to help separating the foreground and the background even if they have similar colors. A real-time extraction system was developed and the experiment proved the proposed method feasible.
