A novel HEVC encoding architecture for 8K resolution at 120Hz is developed to improve subjective video quality and compression efficiency during spatio-temporal parallel processing. We optimized the bit-rate for each slice of 8K video according to the results of the down-converted 4K video which is encoded during the first pass.
