Abstract
Today, people can easily transmit visual images with development of an information-oriented society, especially as the Internet spreads worldwide. Digital Still Cameras (DSC) have attracted a great deal of public attention as input tools for images. However, conventional DSC are only an extension of compact cameras using 35 mm film, and are not compact enough for easy portability to take photos, anytime and everywhere. For the purpose of offering a high portable DSC, we have developed cardsized digital still cameras (CDSC). It is a portable size (62×107×8.5 (12.3) mm) and has flash memory which storages 15 pictures. We have also developed an original software for CDSC which has new signal processing to offer high quality pictures.
