Recently, there has been an increase in the number of electromagnetic noise sources in the environment. These could induce voltages on communication cables, resulting in damage to electronic systems. The paper describes the outdoor experimental results of the induced voltage measurements on a communication cable in an electromagnetic field. The goal of this paper is theoretical prediction of this induced voltage. The distribution circuit theorem and the reciprocal theorem are introduced to the analysis of this problem. The experiment is done by using the 10 pair communication cable and the termination boxes which are used in communication system in the real field. A fairly good agreement is obtained between the analytical and experimental results.
