Abstract
An image retrieval system using Image Compression method based on Fuzzy relational equation(ICF)is proposed. In this system, after a color image is compressed by ICF, the average and standard deviation of pixels as well as higher order local autocorrelation of the whole image are calculated and indexed. In this way, the proposed method results in 13 〜 25% decrease of computation time(with compression rate 0.0156 〜 0.0625)compared to the same sequence of operations executed on the non-compressed image. The result of the image retrieval experiment using 30 images confirmed the better performance(precision and recall)of the proposed system over that of a non-compression method.
