Abstract
Recently, mobile communication technology has shown a remarkable progress. The estimation of the radio wave propagation routes in the urban areas is very important for making effectively use of radio waves. In this study, we analyze that, when the radio wave from source is diffracted by roof edges and side wall edges of a building, how these edges affect the radio wave propagation around the building. The analysis was carried out using GTD. As a result of numerical calculation, the radio waves which turn from side wall edges are large enough compared with the waves which pass via the roof.
