Abstract
This paper deals with the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves traveling along inhomogeneous random rough surfaces (RRSs) by using the discrete ray tracing method (DRTM). The inhomogeneous RRSs consist of several homogeneous RRSs, and they are numerically generated by the convolution method. Some numerical examples are shown for the electric field distributions along the inhomogeneous RRSs based on the DRTM. We examine numerically how the scattering from the inhomogeneous RRSs influence on the receiving powers at the observation points along this type of RRSs.
