Abstract
We experimentally evaluated the effect of display resolution on physiological and psychological state at 4K and 2K using a high-resolution A3-size 4K tablet and 65-inch 4KTV. The results showed that the scores for a lot of psychological indices including "presence" when viewing 4KTV scenic content were significantly higher than those for 2K content. On the other hand, the results showed that the scores for "precise," "high quality" when viewing 4K tablet scenic or material contents were significantly higher than those for 2K content. Moreover, NIRS, an index of nervous system activity, during viewing tests of 4K scenic content, in the both cases of 4KTV and 4K tablet, was significantly higher for 4K content than for 2K content. Moreover, NIRS during viewing tests of 4K material content, in 4K tablet, was significantly higher for 4K content than for 2K content.
