Abstract
Two experiments were carried out to investigate the psychological effects of HDTV images as a function of angular screen size and the preferred viewing distance for LCD televisions. Psychological effects depended on the angular screen size, regardless of the display size. The preferred viewing distance is around 5H for 32 in.; 3.8H for 65in.
