8-5 超高精細映像を対象とした符号化標準規格の性能評価(第8部門 メディア処理3)

Ultra-high resolution (8K) video is expected as one of the next generation video formats. In order to provide consumer service with 8K video, high performance video coding technology is strongly required. In this work, we evaluated the subjective picture quality of 8K video coded by H.264 technology, and the coding performance of advanced coding tools was also evaluated. From these results, we discussed future possibility of 8K video coding.
