Data compression method of spectral CT based on visual characteristics

Abstract

In this study, we propose a spectral computed tomography (CT) with reduced data traffic. Energy spectra taken from selected pixels were combined with conventional CT image to allow material identification , while reducing data traffic. S pectral CT image obtained by first generation CT system is being presented to verify our concept.
