This article elucidates the origin of the concept of stakeholder, including the aspects of history of the management theory. We are here concerned with the several problems of business ethics currently needed. The first section describes the era of the origin of the stakeholder theory which Eric Rhenman argued. The second section presents the socio=technical approach in Tavistock Institute of Human Relations which Rhenman followed. This keyword is important to understand the stakeholder theory because it is significant to consider the decision-making process in the corporation. Finally, the third section discusses the characters of Rhenman's stakeholder theory which are affected by socio=technical approach. He stresses the role and the cooperation of stakeholders. A further direction of this study will be to provide more evidence for this problem of stakeholder theory, considering the modem business issues.
