The paper explores the educational effects by case method of instruction from the perspective of teaching business ethics. It aims to examine an fundamental role for business administration. Firstly the paper shows the brief history and the characteristics about the case method of instruction in Japan. Secondly it illustrates three expectations of the educational effects by case discussions; developing decision-making skill, training student's sensitivity, and learning an issue-finding-skill. Thirdly the paper considers the conformity of academic training in the classroom and business on duty. Fourthly, it sets a reasonable expectation to develop administrative skills by the case method based on the academic discourses. It indicates the case discussions provide learning opportunities to integrate expert wisdoms and business experiences into student's behavior. The paper concludes that the case method of teaching plays an effective role of teaching practical ethics by a well-facilitated discussion.
