Abstract
In order to increase the servo-bandwidth in hard disk drives, we developed a simultaneous designing for a controller and a structure of the head positioning system. We showed that the servo- bandwidth limiters are not only peak frequencies of mechanical resonances but also their residues. Moreover, the mechanical system that can achieve high servo bandwidth with low residue of the first resonant mode was developed.
