Abstract
We installed a multi-sensor monitoring system with Field Server in the experimental field at Sowa Fruits Farm in Wakayama prefecture. This system is monitoring environmental factors, such as air temperature, humidity, solar radiation and soil moisture, and the images of a mandarin orange tree on real time.Wireless network connects the experimental field with the office. This office is connected to the Internet via ADSL line.We can access to the Field Server from our laboratory through VPN which was set up to in this office. In addition, we developed and installed a low-cost data logger for Field Server which does not have any data storage. As a result, even if the network is down, we do not lose data.
