Abstract
In this paper, a method for maximization of the power generation efficiency of a solar photovoltaic (SPV) system will be proposed. By moving the solar panel to optimal angle, one can obtain the maximum power of the SPV system. However, it is hard to derive a model of a relation between angle of solar panel and the power generation efficiency in the SPV system. We consider controlling the SPV system by an extremum seeking control (ESC) strategy. In the proposed method, the ESC is modified with a parameter projection in order to maintain the robustness with respect to rapidly varying weather conditions. Simulation and experiment results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
