Abstract
This paper studied the stabilization problem of unstable periodic orbits embedded in the chaotic high-order continuous-time systems. A method, named as Multi-prediction Delayed Feedback Control (MDFC), was proposed to control the chaotic system via periodic gain.First, plural Poincare maps are defined to regard the target continuous-time system as a T-periodic discrete-time system. Then, the system stability can be evaluated based on the theory of monodromy matrix. Finally, its effectiveness was confirmed with numerical simulations by applying it to two typical chaotic systems, which one is a Duffing-Van der Pol oscillator now being widely studied as a chaotic system, and the other is a 3-link underactuated gymnastic robot showing the chaotic behavior.
