Abstract
The purpose of this study is to estimate driver's fatigue. Physiological measures (such as heart rate, pulse transit time, face surface temperature, and median frequency of EMG) were recorded while participants were engaged in a simulated driving task for two hours. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was conducted by using these time series data of the physiological measures. This study found that the first principal component was significantly related to accumulation of fatigue from the driving task. This indicates that driver's fatigue may be estimated using the physiological measures and PCA.
