This paper is concerned with sampled-data control design using predictive control theory. Many engineering systems are usually modeled as a continuous-time system, while the output of the system is measured at discrete instants. Hence, the theoretical analysis and control design for sampled-data systems are desired. Here, a sampled-data control system is transformed into an equivalent jump system. Then, optimal control design is carried out based on predictive control theory. Numerical examples are given to illustrate our sampled-data predictive control design and compare it with different control design methods.
