In recent years the general public has been requesting a higher degree of esthetics in their dentistry. Although the porcelain fused to metal crown is currently the most widely used esthetic Coronal restoration technique, it still has various problems and research is continually being carried out. For several years castable ceramics which use no metal at all have received considerable attention as a means of recreating the feeling and shade of natural teeth. It is possible to use castable ceramics for inlays, onlays and laminate veneers.
In adition to introducing Dicor castable ceramics in this paper, I would like to explain the general techniques by making use of actual cases. I hope this will be of use to other doctors in understanding the possibilities of these esthetic Coronal restrations.
