Abstract
In the medical world and the WHO, the custom of smoking, which is the biggest risk factor in all diseases, including periodontal disease, is no longer viewed as a question of preference, but instead is now recognized as symptomatic of nicotine dependence. Those organizations recommend smoking cessation and also recommend that preventive education be given to individuals who may become smokers in the future.
The dental clinic uses a recall system comprised of periodic doctor examinations and oral hygiene management by dental hygienists, which makes the dental office an effective and suitable environment for smoking cessation support.
For all disease treatments, the causes and risk factors should first be eliminated.
