Abstract
This study investigates the acceptance and impact of the foreign language teaching method called Postovsky’s comprehension approach in Japan and the United States. My research methods consisted of literature and field surveys. The examination of survey data suggests that it is not appropriate to conduct foreign language instruction using the Postovsky’s comprehension approach in general classroom settings. On the other hand, this approach may be more useful if introduced in a foreign language education environment which uses the Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
