Abstract

ABSTRACT : Marine litter has become a problem anywhere in japan recently. This problem has been studied variously, but the research which is based on “public interest studies approach” which makes use of the theories of public interest studies as an analytical framework is little or no. This research is based on “public interest studies approach”. This research takes hold of the present situation of marine litter, moreover, analyzes “public interest studies approach” which is an analytical framework in this research and public interest studies which is the base of this approach. This research analyzes the public interest of “Operation Clean up Tobishima Island” which is one of measures against marine litter in Tobishima Island. Firstly, this research analyzes it making use of knowledge or theories about public interest of public interest studies as an analytical framework. Secondly, This research analyzes it making use of “public interest principle・economic principle approach” which falls into “public interest studies approach” as an analytical framework. As a result, the public interest of “Operation Clean up Tobishima Island” is observed.
