It is well known that the containerization deveroped new cargo flow in port and harbour. It also transfered the benefit between user and port industry.
This paper tries to, at first, calculate the amount of the cargo handling charges in port of Yokohama; second, estimate the amount of shifted profit from port industry to shipper and/or consignee; and the last, compare terminal cost between containerization and reguler cargo handling.
