広島市海域におけるアマモ場造成について

抄録

Zostera bed plays a very important role in the ecological. system and environmental conservation of coastal zone. But the area of Zostera bed in Hiroshima Bay have been decreased to one -third of the original area during the last fifteen years. The fishery division and the fisheries encouragement society of Hiroshima city conducted a 4 year research project since 1985 to prepare the guidelines for the successful creation of Zostera bed.

The fishery division of Hiroshima city created the Zostera bed (1,000m², 20,000 shoots) under this plan in Jan. 1992.

The survey conducted in this area by the authors in May 1993 revealed that the number of vegetative shoots of Zostera increased to 1.5 times(30,000 shoots) than the transplanted number of shoots. This result indicates that this research project can be employed in other areas.
