Abstract

Today's society is experiencing chaos about what is right or wrong in the face of poverty, economic disparity, suicide, fraud, financial crisis, terrorism, abnormal climate, and so on. In this kind of reality, the framework of leadership used to be measured in absolute terms of interests between self and others, the weak and the strong, either as win-win or win-lose. In this framework, the strong are concerned about securing their own advantage whereas the weak defer leadership to other people. This paper will present the concept of the connotative self and the shared destiny platform with the environment that envelops the self. Also, this paper will address our unconscious desires as the subsistent agenda. This paper will propose solving modern society's problems by using the connotative self to search for one's subsistent agenda and practice leadership for oneself.
