Abstract

University students need to develop their social competence during their time in a university in order to evolve into good adults for society. Meanwhile, it is an issue which cannot be ignored that students can’t consider themselves according to their self-evaluation. In this study, the importance of off campus experience was focused upon. To investigate the effects of student activities of off campus using Segway, students’ academic reports and the interviews with students were used to pursue this analysis. As a result, the experience of off campus activities had influenced students’ self-evaluation positively and it was observed that students came to integrate their studies on and off campus well. So, it is necessary to construct a system to see that all the learning of students becomes integrated so that they are able to externalize or express their thoughts and experiences through language.
