Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the educational system's trend of 42 elementary schools which are involved in pilot studies of Integrated Study and Information Study. First, we made an analysis of the schools' innovations, as reported in their school bulletins and papers, to investigate the substantial factors for their school-based curriculum developments. In this analysis, six significant factors were determined as follows : 1. research systems / research experiences, 2. Information Study, 3. educational facilities, 4. faculty, 5. class design, 6. curriculum. Second, we evaluated the 42 elementary schools' practices in view of these six factors. After this evaluation, their practices could be classified into five typical types. Third, we introduced and analyzed one of the schools' innovations regarding every type. As a result of this analysis, the differences in practices in Integrated Study and Information Study were detected in every type, respectively.
